Privacy Policy
Pirateport — November 2026
We are a small crew running a small port, and this policy is written the way we actually work. Plain language, no fog.
What we collect
The minimum we need to run your account:
- Your name or moniker — whatever name you sail under here.
- Your email address, for sign-in and account mail.
- Your password, stored only as a secure hash. We never store it, or see it, in readable form.
- What you post: your posts, replies, crew memberships, and berth information you provide.
That is the list. If we ever need to collect anything beyond it, we will update this page first and say so plainly.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. It is not ours to sell.
- No third-party ad trackers. Pirateport carries no advertising tracking from outside companies watching you around the web.
- Your email is for account mail only — sign-in, security, and essential notices about your account or the port. We do not send marketing mail and we do not hand your address to anyone else for theirs.
Cookies
We use cookies only to keep you signed in. No advertising cookies, no third-party analytics cookies following you off the site. If your browser blocks our sign-in cookie, the port simply won't be able to keep you logged in between visits.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your information is kept while your account exists, because the account cannot work without it.
You can delete your account at any time, and when you do, your data goes with it: your profile and personal information are deleted, and your posts are removed from the port. Copies held in routine backups are overwritten in the ordinary course of keeping the site running.
Children
Pirateport is a port for adults' crews and conversation. If you believe an account here belongs to someone under the age required to hold one where they live, tell us and we will look into it promptly.
Changes
If this policy changes in any way that matters, we will post the change here and note it in the Gazette before it takes effect.
