The Port Code

These are the articles of Pirateport. They are short on purpose. Sign on, and they apply to you — member, captain, and crew alike.

Article 1 — Be a decent shipmate.
Disagree, argue, tease, and tell tall tales if you like. Treat the people across the table as shipmates, not targets. Good faith is the whole law underneath the rest of this code.

Article 2 — Profanity is fine.
We are pirates. Swear like it, if that's your manner. Language alone will never get a post held or a member banned.

Article 3 — No threats of violence.
None. Not against members, crews, or anyone else, and not dressed up as a joke, a lyric, or lore. A threat posted here is treated as a threat made here.

Article 4 — No sexual violence or coercion, ever.
No content that depicts, celebrates, solicits, or jokes about sexual violence or coercion. No exceptions, no edge cases argued at the rail. This article does not bend.

Article 5 — No harassment campaigns.
One sharp exchange is human. Organising a dogpile, stalking a member across posts or platforms, or rallying a crew against a person is not. Leave people a way to walk away, and let them take it.

Article 6 — No spam, no scams.
No bulk junk, no impersonation, no schemes to part shipmates from their money or their accounts. Advertising a real crew event or a real piece of work is welcome; fleecing the harbour is not.

Article 7 — Captains answer for their berths.
A crew's berth is its captain's responsibility. Keep your roster honest, mind your crew's conduct in your own harbour spaces, and deal with your shipmates' breaches before the port has to.

Article 8 — Moderators can hold, remove, or ban.
Posts that break this code may be held or removed. Members or crews that break it repeatedly — or break Articles 3 or 4 even once — may be banned from the port. We will act first and argue after, where safety is in question.

Article 9 — Appeals go by email.
If you believe the port got it wrong, write to [email protected] with your account name and the post or decision in question. Appeals are read by a person, and answered. One appeal, honestly considered, beats a hundred angry posts.

Sail true, and keep the port a place worth sailing back to.
